Berger Rental Communities acquired four apartment communities at the beginning of August in Allegheny County bringing their innovation and unique features of apartment living to western Pennsylvania. Berger Rental Communities is a full-service Real Estate Company headquartered in Wayne, PA and with the acquisition has grown to 40 communities with approximately 9000 apartments across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.

“We’re excited to bring our expertise and the unique service that our team provides to the Pittsburgh market,” offered Dan Berger, President of Berger Rental Communities. Berger believes renting shouldn’t be hard. To differentiate themselves from other communities, Berger provides residents with features that are atypical to apartment living that are unmatched in the industry. For instance, they promote resident flexibilities such as allowing residents to break their lease at no cost if they decide to buy a home and they allow transfers between apartments and other Berger communities at any time in their lease with no fee. “Not only are we reinventing the way people rent apartments in the Pittsburgh market, but we’re improving and modernizing the communities as well,” said Andrea Hood, Regional Manager of Berger’s Pittsburgh communities. Berger plans to infuse some on the newly acquired apartments with Smart Home Technology, replicating what they’ve provided in other markets. “Things like smart locks, thermostats, and lighting have long since been available to homeowners, and we feel renters should enjoy those features as well,” offered Hood.

Founded in 1973, Berger Rental Communities abides by what they call The Berger Way, which describes the values, behaviors, practices, and principles that are the fundamentals of their unique culture.
