I'm always satisfied with the maintenance team. I've had issues with a leaky toilet. Issues are always resolved in a timely fashion. Anytime I submit a request, I've had it handled quickly or received updates about any potential delays. They even resolved an issue the day of a major snowstorm: issue was handled by 9:30am. I'm very pleased with the rental office and maintenance. I intend to renew for another year, #3.

We have lived at Northwyn for 3 years. Location is excellent and apartments are spacious. The manager and maintenance men are great - repairs are done quickly and they very responsive. Not sure if the place was sold or just new management but my roommate and I have seen a significant improvement in the grounds, hallways, and apartments in the last year - they also installed more outside lights which has been helpful. Also, my neighbors are great :)

Was there anything that we could have done differently that would have made your move in experience better? The Apartment Could have been Cleaned. Fridge was Disgusting, Bathroom Filthy, No Window Screens, Which We Really Heed NOW That it's in the 80's. Patio above Ours Looks like Someone's going to be Killed when it falls on One of Us.

Was there anything that we could have done differently that would have made your move in experience better?
When I first made contact with (Pam) the leasing department it seemed like it might be a good experience. However, I was required to do most of the application and reservation process on-line which for me is very inconvenient. ( I work with people and my job does not require me to be on-line at all). I was still in my search but Pam checked in periodically and finally offered not only the $1000 rent rebate but free application fee and credit check if I did the application with-in 24 hours. So that is when I applied. Again not easy for me so I called for some help and did not get a response immediately. I did then get a call from Amber who told me pam was no longer with the company. In the end the credit check cost was not given back to us. We moved in on Dec. 28th. We looked over the apartment but apparently not carefully enough. I expected to have to sanitze but not really clean. The refridgerator had hair and ketchup and mold in crevices. It had a poorly 'fixed' door shelf that a chipped paint/moldy piece of wood attached to it. and the shower head had thick gunk like mold on it. And as I was cleaning discovered that the tub drained extremely slowly. I was very dissappointed and had to spend my entire first day cleaning instead of moving. On the upside the guys from maintenance came right away to order a new fridge door shelf and fix the shower drain. They were also prepared to clean but I had finished most of the cleaning. Since move in we had a problem with the kitchen sink draining into the dishwasher. I left a message on the machine of the leasing office and did not get a response. We then called the next day to the corporate office and at that point a message was given to the maintenace department. From them I do get a very quick and courteous response just like we did upon move in! The girls in the leasing office are pleasant when I get to talk to them but I was dissappointed that I do not get a call back.

Yes
I was extremely satisfied with the speed and efficiency of the handling of my reques to check my smoke detector. It started chirping Christmas eve. It began chirping away steadily the morning after Christmas & I'd been unable to remover the cover to replace the battery. I called the office about this. Within minutes the maintenance man arrived. He was able to remove the cover and replace the battery with no problem. I am very satisfied with the completion of my service request.

Is there anything that we can do to improve our service department?
When I have to leave a message re: a maintenance request, I'd like to have someone call me back so that I can be sure it has been received in a timely manner.

Was there anything that we could have done differently that would have made your move in experience better?
There were about 25-30 hornets in our apartment when we first moved in. Management should walk through apartments before people move in to make sure they are in good condition. Also, we never got a copy of the list of problems with our apartment that were present at time of move in.

The buildings are old, and the seal on the doors and windows are poor. The first day we moved in, there were about 25-30 hornets in our apartment that got in through the sliding glass door. The seal on the door had basically disintegrated from age, so they had no problem getting in. Bugs also get into the bedrooms because the screens don't fit the windows.

Maintenance usually responds very quickly, but the emergency 24 hour phone system does not have Northwyn Court listed under Berger Management, so when I called, they basically hung up on me because we "weren't in the system".

The apartment itself it fairly large, and quiet. Parking was great when we moved in, but now that there are no vacancies, parking is much tougher. If you get home late on Saturday night, good luck finding a place to park. The parking lot is also really dark at night, but the building is located in a really quiet area, so I always feel pretty safe. There was no smoke detector in our unit when we moved in. The paint on the walls is extremely cheap. If you get a scuff on the wall, just rub it with a wet paper towel and the scuff/paint comes right off.

On the plus side, there is a new oven/stove and dish washer in our unit.
